Electric Passenger Vehicle Case

3-in-1 OBC, DC/DC and PDU Solution for an Electric SUV Platform
3-in-1 OBC, DC/DC and PDU Solution

Overview

A major vehicle manufacturer in Southeast Asia selected Landworld’s 3-in-1 onboard power solution for a seven-seat electric SUV developed for multiple regional markets.

The project combined AC charging, low-voltage power conversion and high-voltage distribution within the available installation space. The product also needed to support the vehicle’s 200–500V platform and connect with its existing electrical architecture, liquid-cooling circuit and communication system.

Landworld provided a liquid-cooled 3-in-1 product integrating a 6.6kW onboard charger, 2.7kW DC/DC converter and PDU.

Challenges

Regional compatibility — AC input conditions and charging requirements varied across the intended markets.

Compact packaging — The OBC, DC/DC converter and PDU needed to share limited space with the busbars, coolant channels, connectors and control circuits.

Vehicle integration — Cooling interfaces, communication, diagnostics, software updates and safety functions all needed to align with the SUV platform.

Landworld Solution

Landworld adapted a liquid-cooled 3-in-1 onboard power solution integrating a 6.6kW OBC, 2.7kW DC/DC converter and PDU to the SUV’s installation layout and vehicle architecture.

Compact internal layout. Inside the enclosure, the power devices, high-voltage busbars, coolant channels and control circuits were arranged to fit the defined installation envelope. Mounting points, connector positions and coolant interfaces were matched to the vehicle layout.

Integrated high-voltage distribution. The PDU handles high-voltage distribution alongside the charging and low-voltage power functions. HVIL, temperature monitoring and protection functions were also included to meet the vehicle’s electrical and safety requirements.

Communication and service functions. The product supports CAN 2.0A, CAN FD, wake-up control, UDS diagnostics and software upgrades. Charging and external power functions were adjusted through software for the intended regional markets.

The product combines AC charging, low-voltage power conversion and high-voltage distribution in one enclosure. A common onboard power architecture can be used across different regional versions of the SUV, with software and functional settings adjusted to meet regional requirements.

6kW DC/DC Converter Solution for a 12-Metre Electric Bus Platform
6kW DC/DC converter for a 12-metre electric bus

Overview

A major commercial vehicle manufacturer in India selected a 6kW DC/DC converter for a 12-metre electric bus platform.

The converter supplies the vehicle’s 24V electrical system from the high-voltage traction battery, supporting auxiliary loads across the bus. The project called for a single 6kW product to replace the previous parallel converter arrangement while matching the vehicle’s installation area, liquid-cooling system and electrical architecture.

The product supports a 400–860VDC high-voltage input and provides a 28.5V low-voltage output for the 24V system.

Challenges

High auxiliary power demand — The 24V system needed continuous power for multiple vehicle controls and auxiliary loads from one 6kW converter.

Vehicle-side packaging — Product dimensions, mounting points, connector orientation, coolant connections and cable routing all needed to match the available installation area.

Bus-level requirements — Communication, diagnostics, EMC, vibration and environmental protection had to align with the electric bus platform.

Landworld Solution

Landworld developed a liquid-cooled 6kW DC/DC converter for the bus’s high-voltage and 24V electrical systems.

Single-converter power supply. The converter accepts a 400–860VDC input and provides a 28.5V output for the vehicle’s 24V network. Its 6kW output allows the required auxiliary power to be supplied without using two lower-power converters in parallel.

Vehicle-side installation. The product layout was adapted to the defined mounting space. Connector direction, cooling interfaces and cable routing were arranged around the vehicle installation, while the IP67 enclosure supports operation in the bus environment.

Communication and validation. CAN and CAN FD communication were matched to the vehicle system, together with UDS diagnostic functions. The product was also developed around the project’s EMC, vibration, ingress-protection and corrosion requirements.

The 6kW DC/DC converter supplies the bus’s 24V auxiliary network through a single product, removing the need to install and connect two lower-power converters in parallel and simplifying the power supply arrangement on the bus platform.

Electric Construction Equipment Case

22kW OBC + 3kW DC/DC 2-in-1 Solution for an Electric Telehandler
construction equipment

Overview

A European manufacturer of material-handling and construction equipment needed an onboard charging and low-voltage power solution for a battery-electric telehandler.

The vehicle operates in outdoor working environments and uses a 24V system for hydraulic controls, work-control components, lighting and onboard terminals. Charging and low-voltage conversion needed to fit within the available vehicle space while connecting with the existing high-voltage architecture, liquid-cooling circuit and communication system.

Landworld provided a liquid-cooled 2-in-1 product combining a 22kW onboard charger and 3kW DC/DC converter for the 350–780V vehicle platform.

Challenges

Two power functions in one installation area — The onboard charger and 24V DC/DC converter needed to share the available space and vehicle-side connections.

Outdoor operating conditions — The product needed enclosure protection and structural durability suited to construction equipment working environments.

Vehicle system coordination — Charging, low-voltage power supply, cooling and CAN communication all needed to match the telehandler platform.

Landworld Solution

Landworld adapted the 22kW OBC and 3kW DC/DC product to the telehandler’s electrical architecture and installation layout.

Integrated charging and 24V power supply. The 22kW onboard charger supports high-voltage battery charging, while the 3kW DC/DC converter provides continuous power for the vehicle’s 24V auxiliary system. Both functions are housed in one liquid-cooled enclosure.

Mechanical and thermal adaptation. The internal layout, mounting points, connector orientation and cooling ports were arranged around the vehicle installation. Cooling flow paths, potting and structural design were adapted for the operating conditions, with an IP67 enclosure providing environmental protection.

Vehicle communication. CAN 2.0B communication and diagnostic functions were matched to the vehicle’s control system, allowing the charging and low-voltage power functions to exchange operating status and fault information with the telehandler.

The 2-in-1 product combines high-voltage battery charging and continuous 24V power supply in one liquid-cooled enclosure. The two functions share the installation, cooling and communication interfaces, avoiding separate integration of an onboard charger and DC/DC converter on the telehandler platform.
